Quality guidelines for MemoFlash

Introduction

We are glad to have you as a contributor who wants to share their knowledge on our platform.

We work hard at MemoFlash to bring you the best software and content, but you also contribute to the quality and the variety of the content.

Whoever you are: student, teacher, expert, you surely have expertise that you can share with the MemoFlash community.

Here are a few simple rules for the cards you will create if you wish to see them in the Store. These rules guarantee the ethic, the legality and efficiency of our platform. Following these guidelines will allow us to quickly validate your content for publication on the MemoFlash Store.

Quality Guidelines

Here are the rules that apply to your decks as a contributor. We reserve the right to refuse any deck that do not respect them.

1) Work ethics and legality

• Please note that many children use MemoFlash, so exclude any vulgar or inappropriate content.
• We will refuse any xenophobic, hateful or slanderous content.
• MemoFlash respects intellectual rights. Your decks must be personal, written by yourself from various compiled sources. You may not copy existing decks or quizzes. In any case, you are responsible for respecting copyright rules for any texts or images you publish.

2) Formatting

To optimize memorization, use two simple principles: structure and repetition.

Structure the topic

• Topics are divided into decks. Decks are made up of cards.
• A topic usually has between 4 and 10 decks.
• A deck includes between 20 and 50 cards. More cards in a deck make the memorization more difficult.
• Choose simple and explicit titles and descriptions for your topics and decks.
• Use the title to target the audience. Define the age or the kind of public the topic is designed for. Example: Spanish vocabulary for kids, beginners, intermediate, advanced ...
• Order the decks from the more simple to the more elaborate, from general knowledge to more specific knowledege.

Structure every card

• Each card has recto and a verso. On the recto, an optional title and a question. On the verso, the answer.
• Avoid long texts (no more than 200 characters).

Simplify

• Avoid complex sentences. Make it explicit, simple and direct.
• If a card answers two questions: make two cards.
• If a deck deals with more than one subject, make two decks.
• If a topic seems too vast. Make two topics!

Match your cards

List

• Don't hesitate to begin a new paragraph. You can use bullet points, numbered lists, arrows ... But always do it in the same way so as not to confuse the reader.

Reference

• To mention a work of art (book, painting, sculpture, music, etc.) use the following model: first name and last name of the author, title, original language, date.
• For a famous character, use the following model: first name and last name, date of birth - eventual date of death and nationality.

3) Content and form

• A paid topic must bring real added value in term of content.
• Check your sources.
• In case of doubt, check with other sources.
• Do not leave any typo, spelling or grammar mistakes.
• Use the provided spell checks.
